Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before visiting Turf Paws Dog Fields. If your question isn’t answered below, please get in touch—we’re always happy to help!

Are your dog fields fully secure?

Yes. Both of our fields are fully enclosed with secure fencing and gates, giving dogs a private space to run, play and explore safely off lead.

Our Watery Lane field has approximately 5.5ft fencing and a secure 6ft gate. Our Pound Lane field is surrounded by approximately 6ft fencing with a secure gate.

Where are your fields located?

We have two secure dog fields in Essex:

Watery Lane, Hullbridge
A beautiful 1.5-acre meadow.

Pound Lane, Bowers Gifford
A peaceful and spacious 2-acre meadow.

Full directions and arrival information are provided with your booking.

Can I drive directly into the field?

Yes! At both locations, you can drive directly inside the secure gated area before letting your dog out of the vehicle. This makes arriving and leaving easier, particularly for nervous, reactive or excitable dogs.

Please make sure the entrance gate is completely closed and secured before allowing your dog out.

How long is each private booking?

Standard private-hire sessions are 50 minutes. This allows time between visitors and helps everyone enter and leave safely without meeting the next booking.

Please leave the field promptly at the end of your session.

Will we have the field to ourselves?

Yes. During a private-hire booking, the field is reserved exclusively for you and the dogs included in your booking.

Our Dog Fun Meet-Ups are separate group events for friendly, sociable dogs.

Are the fields suitable for nervous or reactive dogs?

Absolutely. Turf Paws was created with nervous and reactive dogs in mind. Our private, secure fields allow dogs to enjoy stress-free, off-lead time without the usual worry or distractions of unfamiliar dogs.

Are XL Bullies and other banned breeds welcome?

XL Bullies and other legally restricted breeds are welcome at our Pound Lane field, provided that all current legal requirements and our booking conditions are followed.

Unfortunately, we are not permitted to accept XL Bullies at Watery Lane. Please choose Pound Lane when booking.

Separate age restrictions apply to our Dog Fun Meet-Ups, where children under 12 are not permitted.

Can I bring more than one dog?

Yes. Our fields are perfect for households with multiple dogs and for arranged playdates.

Please make sure every dog is included correctly when making your booking and check the booking details for any applicable limits or charges.

Can I meet friends and their dogs at the field?

Yes, providing all dogs are comfortable together and everyone attending is included within the booking. The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that all visitors follow the field rules.

Do you hold social events?

Yes! We hold monthly Dog Fun Meet-Ups at our Pound Lane meadow for friendly, sociable dogs who enjoy meeting and playing with others.

Places must be reserved online. Please see our Dog Fun Meet-Ups page for upcoming dates, prices and attendance rules.
